Heather was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She attended the University of South Florida, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. While working as a Registered Nurse at Florida Hospital of Tampa, Heather earned her Acute/Critical Care Nursing Certification and became a member of the Critical Assessment Team. She worked her way up to the Team Leader position of the Intensive Care Unit. She completed her internship in Nephrology with Dr. Uttamchandani while pursuing her Master’s degree at the University of South Florida. After attaining her Master’s degree, she hired on with Tampa Renal Physicians, now Florida Kidney Physicians, as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. Heather is board certified in Adult Primary Care Health and Gerontology. She is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the National Kidney Foundation. Her special area of interest is helping patients overcome the challenges of chronic hemodialysis.
