Dr. Gilda Melissa Portalatin, a bilingual nephrologist, brings a rich background in internal medicine and nephrology to Florida Kidney Physicians. After earning her Doctor of Medicine from Ross University and completing her internal medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic Florida, Dr. Portalatin pursued a nephrology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she also served as Chief Fellow and co-directed pathology biopsy conferences.

Her clinical expertise is complemented by significant research contributions and poster presentations at leading conferences. Dr. Portalatin’s work spans various aspects of nephrology, from acute kidney injury to innovative treatment approaches. Notable publications include studies on diabetic kidney biopsy findings and ketogenic diet shake-related nephritis.
