Dr. Mary Sifain is a nephrologist dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based care for patients with kidney disease and related conditions.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Florida Atlantic University, where she also completed a certification in biotechnology and a minor in Spanish. She went on to earn her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Sifain completed her Internal Medicine residency at Wellington Regional Medical Center, followed by a General Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital through the Katz Family Division of Nephrology and Hypertension. She subsequently practiced as a nephrologist with Boca Nephrology before joining Florida Kidney Physicians.
Her clinical experience includes the management of patients with a broad range of kidney conditions, as well as experience with temporary hemodialysis catheter placement, peritoneal dialysis, apheresis, and renal biopsy.
Dr. Sifain has also been actively involved in research throughout her medical training. Her work has included research related to IgA nephropathy, fibrillary glomerulonephritis, cardiorenal syndrome, genetic testing for kidney disease, and contrast-induced acute kidney injury. Research in which she participated was selected for presentation at the American Society of Nephrology Annual Meeting in 2023, and her work on fibrillary glomerulonephritis was selected for the American College of Physicians Virtual Poster Competition.
Earlier in her academic career, Dr. Sifain also participated in cardiology and biochemistry research and received recognition at Florida Atlantic University's College of Science Research Day.
She is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the National Kidney Foundation. Dr. Sifain brings to Florida Kidney Physicians a strong combination of specialized nephrology training, clinical experience, and research involvement, with a commitment to providing thoughtful, individualized, patient-centered kidney care.
