Lia Hiers, MSN, FNP-C, is a certified family nurse practitioner joining Florida Kidney Physicians. She brings more than seven years of clinical experience across nursing roles and advanced practice training, with a background in gastroenterology, hospital care, and primary care. Her experience includes patient assessment, education, procedural care, and supporting people with complex health needs.
Lia earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Georgia, in 2026. She previously completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at ECPI University in Lake Mary, Florida, in 2019, and her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at Florida State University in 2015. She holds the Certified Family Nurse Practitioner credential, FNP-C.
During her nurse practitioner clinical training, Lia gained experience caring for adults with chronic conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, congestive heart failure, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Her training included physical examinations, diagnostic interpretation, individualized care planning, medication management, preventive care, and coordinating follow-up. She also completed clinical experiences in pediatric and women’s health.
Her registered nursing background includes gastroenterology and endoscopy care at HCA Orange Park Hospital and Borland-Groover’s Jacksonville Center for Endoscopy. In these settings, she prepared patients for procedures, monitored recovery, supported patient safety, and explained preparation and follow-up instructions.
Earlier in her career, Lia cared for medical and surgical patients at St. Vincent’s Medical Center Riverside and neurological and postoperative spine patients at Orlando Regional Medical Center. These roles strengthened her experience in clinical assessment, medication administration, care coordination, and patient and family education.
At Florida Kidney Physicians, Lia brings this broad foundation to the kidney care team. Her professional background emphasizes individualized care planning and practical education to help patients understand their care and participate in decisions about their health.
