Clinical Interests
Jose F. Arrascue, MD, is a highly respected board-certified nephrologist.  He has published peer-reviewed articles in Kidney International and The American Journal of Physiology, among others. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Nephrology. He has also been recognized as a Certified Physician Executive from the American College of Physician Executives.

Present and Past Positions
Dr. Arrascue is an active member of the American Society of Nephrology, the American Society of Nephrology, the Florida Medical Association, the Florida Society of Nephrology and the Peruvian American Medical Society. He has twice been elected President of the Medical Staff at JFK Medical Center and Bethesda Memorial Hospital. He is a Clinical Affiliate Assistant Professor of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University.
Dr. Arrascue actively participates in hospital board committees and has developed an expertise and passion for quality improvement, which he has brought to the Palm Beach County Medical Society (PBCMS). As past president and current Board member of PBCMS and PBCMS Services, Dr. Arrascue created and launched the Future of Medicine Initiative in 1997, which he continues to chair.

Education
Dr. Arrascue teaches Nephrology and Critical Care Medicine to the Internal Medicine residents at the JFK-University of Miami Internal Medicine program. He has served as medical director of outpatient dialysis clinics, as well as inpatient acute dialysis/pheresis programs and for critical care services for many years.
Partnering with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, he is spearheading the Triple Aim movement to improve the quality and value of health care in Palm Beach County. Presently he is leading a training program for Community Health Care workers, to improve outcomes and cost in patients with chronic disease. Dr Arrascue is the chair of the Specialist committee and board member of the Palm Beach Accountable Care Organization, (PBACO) one of the most successful Physician own ACO’s in the country.Dr. Arrascue has been active in organized medicine and serves his fellow physicians through leadership roles in the American Medical Association, the Florida Medical Association, the Palm Beach County Medical Society, and the Florida Society of Nephrology.

Awards & Recognitions
He has received the 2005 President’s Award for “Physician Leadership” from PBCMS, the “Physician Local/National Heroes in Medicine Award” from PBCMS Services, and the “Attending of the Year” Award from the Palm Beach Consortium for Graduate Medical Education. He is also recognized as one of Florida’s “Super Doctors.”
