Dr. Derek J. Casey is a board-certified physician specializing in nephrology. He completed his fellowship in Nephrology at Jackson Memorial/University of Miami Hospital and his Internal Medicine residency at Broward Health Medical Center.
Dr. Casey earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University, following a Biomedical Sciences Bridge program and a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University.
Throughout his training, Dr. Casey contributed to research in both nephrology and internal medicine, presenting posters and abstracts at conferences including the American College of Physicians and the Florida Medical Association. His work explored topics such as renal vein thrombosis in nephrotic syndrome, DRESS syndrome, and colorectal cancer associated with anabolic steroid use.
Dr. Casey is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Physicians, and American Society of Nephrology. Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing piano, scuba diving, rock climbing, and gardening.
