Jose Alberto Lluch Pena is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who sees patients at Florida Kidney Physicians’ Venice location. With a strong background in renal care, hemodialysis, acute care, and chronic disease management, he has experience caring for patients with complex medical needs, including those receiving in-center hemodialysis.
Jose earned his Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner focus from Miami Regional University and completed clinical training in primary care, pediatrics, and women’s health. His clinical experience includes comprehensive patient assessments, preventive care, chronic disease management, diagnostic interpretation, and treatment planning.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Jose gained extensive experience as a registered nurse in dialysis and acute care settings. He has cared for patients with acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease, performed dialysis assessments, monitored vascular access, managed complications, and collaborated closely with nephrologists and interdisciplinary care teams.
In addition to his nursing and advanced practice training, Jose completed medical training at the University of Medical Sciences of Holguín in Cuba, which provides a strong foundation in clinical assessment, diagnosis, and patient care. He is bilingual in English and Spanish and is dedicated to serving patients with compassion, clear communication, and individualized care.
Jose is Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board and is licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Florida.
