Dr. Eftekhari is fluent in English and Farsi.

Present and Past Positions
Vice chairman, department of Internal medicine Broward Health medical center. Assistant clinical professor of medicine Broward Health Medical center and FIU School of medicine. Medical director of Davita Greater Miami (Miami Garden FL) and Davita Broward (Ft Lauderdale).

Throughout his career, Dr. Eftekhari pursued various medical volunteer mission trips in Guatemala and Peru. One of his personal hobbies is to being involved in international medical volunteer efforts, which has helped him to gain an appreciation of cultural diversity while caring for his personal patients here in the United States.

He was honored as a Johnson & Johnson International Scholar, and lived abroad for three months in Uganda Africa focusing on HIV research and Kidney Disease, which led to a research publication in Africa.

His medical and community volunteer efforts led him to be awarded The Gary Vernon Ralph Humanism in Medicine Award by Yale University Department of Internal Medicine in June of 2009.

Clinical Interests
He has a genuine interest in practicing preventative medicine while optimizing his patients medical conditions that can lead to progressive kidney failure such as their high blood pressure, diabetes control, lupus and HIV, to name a few.

Academy
Associate Professor – Florida International University and Nova Southeastern University.

He also has a passion for teaching and currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL where he is also involved in active research projects with the school of medicine.

More about Dr. Eftekhari
In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor recreational sports, international traveling, spending time with family and friends and listening to music. One thing you may not know about him is that he does a great U2 Karaoke performance, which ironically, was how he was initially introduced to Dr. Alberto Casaretto (REHC founder and senior partner) during a job interview seminar in Denver Colorado.
