Dr. Imperio is passionate about preventive as well as lifestyle medicine and because of this, in 2019 , he obtained additional certification from the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine.  He strongly believes that the vast majority of conditions that lead or contribute to the development of kidney diseases are related to our lifestyles.  Diseases like diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, high cholesterol, obesity and others are largely associated with the lifestyle choices that are made and the habits that are formed because of these choices.  Dr. Imperio regularly incorporates patient education during office visits to help patients improve these lifestyle choices to hopefully delay, halt and sometimes even reverse these chronic diseases and thus not only increase longevity but more importantly improve quality of life.
